People living with disabilities, including some veterans, had the chance to talk with one area lawmaker about the importance of local programs and support.
Congressman Chris Collins toured the CDS Monarch facility Monday afternoon. He met with a number of people who were able to find work and help for a number of services.
Collins spoke about how the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is nearly doubled -- at 12.2-percent. “The visit here is to show those with disabilities working contributing back to the community. It's friendship, it's socialization and a job. Putting together products that could be used in the military and also sold at Wegmans. So it's a win, win, win.”
