Fire crews responded to a call at 1:47 p.m. Sunday for a fire at a mobile home on Saltonstall St., said Canandaigua Fire Chief Mark Marentette.
Fire crews were on the scene in three minutes, at which time, the kitchen was involved, he said.
No one was home at the time of the fire, Marentette said. Firefighters pulled two dogs out of the mobile home, and they were treated by fire and ambulance crews. Ontario County Humane Society personnel also responded to the scene. One of the dogs died, but the other survived, Marentette said.
He said the cause of the fire was a coffee pot.
Marentette said the home sustained extensive fire damage in the kitchen and heat and smoke damage throughout. It will likely be a total loss, he said.
The American Red Cross responded to the home to provide assistance to the residents, Marentette said.
