There is an ongoing push in New York to take away the pensions from any public officials convicted of a felony.

According to the Albany Times Union, a bill to forfeit the pensions of public officials convicted of violating the public trust will be re-introduced when the state legislature gets back in session in January.

It first came up last May, but didn't go anywhere.

Now, the paper reports that the U.S. Attorney for New York City is pushing judges to remove pensions from convicted lawmakers.

The bill number is A 7173. If you would like to read the bill, click here.
