Rochester General Hospital is announcing new restrictions to prevent the flu from spreading.

Starting Tuesday,  the hospital is limiting the number of visitors to just two people allowed for each patient. Officials say children 14 and younger are not allowed to visit patients at the hospital.  They are also recommending anyone with symptoms of an illness to refrain from visiting patients at the hospital.

Hospital officials say the restrictions will remain in place until further notice. This is the second local hospital to take precautions to prevent the spread of the flu. Strong Memorial Hospital has similar restrictions.

There have been 321 confirmed lab cases of the flu in Monroe County. News10NBC has learned that 88 of those cases were hospitalized.
