Joel Seligman has been reappointed President of the University of Rochester by the school’s Board of Trustees.
University officials tell News10NBC presidents serve indefinite terms and are periodically reviewed by the Board every five years or so.
For this review, Trustee Tom Sloan headed up the reappointment committee. Sloan said, “We did a thorough review. We talked with trustees, University officers, and student leaders, and we surveyed the faculty. The results were overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic. People appreciate the job Joel has done in providing vision, injecting incredible energy, and in communicating openly with all the University’s constituents.”
In response to his reappointment, President Seligman said, “I am deeply gratified by the Board’s vote for my reappointment. I look forward to working further with the Board, our leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni to build an ever better University of Rochester in the years to come.”
