Rochester Police say a man is dead after a shooting on the city’s west side Saturday night.

It happened on Clay Avenue around 8 p.m. It's only about two miles from a convenience store on Lyell Avenue where police say a 21-year-old man was shot and killed Friday night.

Police haven't released a lot of information about Saturday night’s shooting. They say it is very early in this investigation.

Police have completely secured the scene. They have shut the road down for about a block on Clay Avenue.

Rochester Police have confirmed a man in his 30s was shot and killed on the 50th block of Clay Avenue.

They would not say if the man was shot inside or outside of a home, or where he suffered the fatal shot on his body.

All we know right now is the man was deceased when police arrived on scene. They did bring out the Rochester Police Department’s command van to help with the investigation. They say this will help gather evidence through the rain.

News10NBC asked police if this shooting was related to Friday night's shooting and they would not comment on that.

Friday night a man was shot and killed inside of the S & S Mini Mart on Lyell Avenue.

Investigators say the victim is 21-year-old Samuel Gibson. They say he walked into the market with another person shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.
Shortly after, police say a group walked in and an argument took place. It escalated and shots were fired. N. Police say of those bullets struck the victim in the upper body and he later died on scene.

Police questioned a number of people who were inside at the time.

The victim's family tells News10NBC he leaves behind a twin brother and young daughter. They are devastated by the loss and are hoping someone can come forward.

“I’m hurting really badly inside. My prayers go out to my cousin, my family. Whoever this is, whatever happened, be a man and just go and tell what happened. May God have mercy on your soul,” said Gloria Riley, family member.

Again, there are still a lot of questions about what led up to the shooting on Clay Avenue. News10NBC is  hoping to learn more about what happened and will bring you any updates as we get them.

If you know of any information in regards to both of these shootings you are urged to call 911.
