It's a chance for local lawmakers to get a closer look at tourism. The New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association held a tourism roundtable Friday.

It gives lawmakers a chance to learn about the concerns relating to tourism from the people and hospitality officials in the area. This is the third of eleven events planned across the state.

Jan Chesterton, New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, said, "One of the biggest things we've heard from both the constituents and the elected officials is the importance of funding and properly funding the local matching funds to promote tourism and also the I love New York in Albany, giving them the adequate funds to market and promote all the great things the state of New York has to offer for tourism."

Organizers say another big topic of conversation is the impact of regulations and mandates coming out of Albany on small businesses across the state.
