Upstate New York is known for its wineries, especially the ice wine that's unique to our region, and on Saturday some of the area's best offerings were on display.
The sixth annual New York Ice Wine and Culinary Festival wrapped up at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport.
The event is a celebration of some of the state's award-winning ice wines, which are featured, tasted and talked about by wine lovers both here and across the country.
Visitors sampled ice wines from about 10 different wineries across the area.
“We want everybody to understand what traditional ice wine is, have the opportunity to taste it and also buy some and bring it home,” said Andrea Colaruotolo O’Neil, Director of Marketing for Casa Larga Vineyards.
Also featured Saturday was barrel toasting demonstrations, marshmallow toasting on grape vine sticks and horse-drawn wagon rides through the vineyards.
