News10NBC has an update to a suspected murder-suicide involving a woman who grew up in Greece. We have received a copy of the emergency calls between dispatchers in Rochester and Tennessee.
Police believe it is a case of murder-suicide. The victim is 25-year-old Kaitlyn Vitt Wilchenski was originally from Greece. Police believe Wilchenski was murdered by her husband in Nashville, Tennessee. Before she was killed, her mother reportedly got a phone call from her son-in-law, 28-year-old Christopher Wilchenski. Officers found him dead from gunshot wounds on Wednesday night.
The 9-1-1 operators from Rochester and Nashville talk about Kaitlyn and Christopher's marital status. The most chilling part comes when the dispatcher in Rochester recounts what Kaitlyn's mother told him about what happened to her daughter.
When News10NBC listened to more of the talk between the 911 operators, they said Christopher was not supposed to be at the apartment because there was no order of protection. They filed for divorce this week.
Kaitlyn graduated from Greece Athena High School in 2006. For years, she lived with her mother at their house in Greece. Her former neighbor spoke about her death.
Lou Siracusa, former neighbor, said, “You think of neighbors as family and a young lady that had a long life to live tragically is now gone and the same with her husband and it's a very unfortunate situation.”
Kaitlyn’s mother, Jeanne Vitt, released a statement saying, “Our family and our community lost a beautiful person. She was a person who gave freely to those in need and had a gift of caring for people who couldn't care for themselves. We will miss Kaiti's smile, her friendship and her loving spirit. The world will miss the goodness she had yet to share."
