News10NBC is still waiting to hear about a vote in the state Assembly to delay the implementation of Common Core. That proposal is expected to be voted on sometime this week.

Many lawmakers have said they share the frustration of parents and teachers and that the new standards were implemented before everyone was ready.

Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb held a news conference with his fellow members of the minority conference, calling on fellow lawmakers and the governor to reform the Common Core standards.

Assemblyman Brian Kolb, (R, 129th District) said, "Today is about publicly calling for the legislature and the governor to work together to come up with whatever steps immediately so that our students and their families do not go through another stressful testing season with no remedy to materials being appropriately taught and appropriately supported by our educational institutions throughout the state."

Kolb says he feels the reform of Common Core is as high of a priority as budget issues in Albany.
