Amerks lose an all-star

The Amerks returned home from a 1-3 road trip Wednesday. All-star Brayden McNabb didn't have a chance to sleep in his own bed. He was traded to Los Angeles and got right back on a plane after getting off only hours before.

McNabb was sent to the Kings for two prospects, one being Nicholas Deslaurier, who will see in an Amerks sweater.

McNabb spent most of his time with the Amerks, 12 games in Buffalo this season.

He was a key piece for Rochester. He was also Chad Ruhwedel's roommate.

Chad Ruhwedel said, “It is always a tough time when you know there will be movement. He was my roommate, so it was tough. I took him to the airport and said our goodbyes.”

Mark Pysyk said, “I was playing with him for two years. It is sad to see him go but it is a good opportunity for him.”

Amerks are back in action Friday against Syracuse at the Blue Cross Arena.
