Bishop Kearney falls to Utica Notre Dame in Class B championships

Saturday, Bishop Kearney with a chance to repeat as Class B champions...they had to get through Utica Notre Dame, a team that's hasn't won a title in over 20 years.

In the second quarter, Kearney’s down, but Arianna Smith trying to change that, going off the glass. Bishop Kearney still trailed by 5.

Still in the second, Rosa Graham checks it inside to Shelia Hawkes. Hawkes goes back out to Graham for the triple. The Kings still trail by 6.

The main reason for that: Utica Notre Dame's Emily Durr. Durr is headed to Iowa State next year. She helps the Utica take a 12 point lead.

In the fourth quarter, Durr not only has range, but she can handle the ball as well. Durr on the drive, gets the bucket, and a trip to the charity stripe.

Notre Dame upsets the defending champs, 71-36. It’s only Kearney's third loss this season.
