The goal of the 14th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition at the Rochester plaza hotel was to name the best wines and help a good cause.
More than 3,700 wine entrees come from in all over the world.
A panel of judges tastes the wines and then chooses the ones they like the most.
The competition benefits Camp Good Days and Special Times, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and families dealing with cancer.
The founder of Camp Good Days, Gary Mervis, tells us why events like this are so important.
"I made a promise that no family that had a child with cancer should have to go through the financial anxiety of saying, can I send my child to a program at Camp Good Days, or make the car payment, or the mortgage of rent payment on time, and I didn't want any family to have to deal with that.”
In may Camp Good Days will hold it’s annual auction and dinner. The top wines from this weekend will be served during dinner.
