Helping students get a better idea of what careers are out there and empowering them to work hard towards their goals. That's the goal of the first inaugural Day of Careers at Our Lady of Mercy High School.
The event includes a panel discussion featuring some of the school's alumni who are speaking about their own career and life experiences. More than a dozen other alumni are also on hand to help teach the girls about the importance of networking.
Financial advisor Heather Hanson Goodbody said, “So many of our alumni have had tremendous professions, tremendous professional lives and so that they can share the different ideas out there and embrace, and have the students be able to embrace the career path of their choice. We all know when it comes to our careers it's a journey.”
Organizers say they expect the event to grow more and more each year.
