Casinos have been a hot topic for our area recently, with the Seneca Nation looking to build another casino in the Rochester area.

The Henrietta Town Board has already opposed a casino in its town, but now "No More Casinos" is asking Gates to follow suit. Gates Supervisor Mark Assini says a casino would be good for the town and he's not going to reconsider. Monday night, Gates residents weighed in.

One resident asked, "Is thought being given to the tenants that are there or is this just something that's being floated out there like a balloon?"

Another said, "We have 390, 490... We're only 16 miles away from I-90, which is the Thruway. I'm in favor, I don't know how the board feels, but I'd like to see one in Gates."

Right now, Democratic county lawmakers are formally opposing a casino in Henrietta. They're asking the governor to stick to the compact -- maintaining the status quo of only three Seneca casinos in the state.
