It's the end of the line support-wise for Windows XP.

Today is the day Microsoft said it will stop providing updates and security patches for the popular, but 12-year-old operating system, still being run by about one-in-three computers used by businesses and consumers around the world.

Not having support isn't just a hassle, it's a security risk. Computer experts say computers that continue to run XP may be increased targets for hackers and other do-badders online. If you have a computer that's more than five years old, chances are it's still running XP and should be updated with new software. Of course your computer will still run with the old-school version of Windows but Microsoft recommends you upgrade or at the very least, install the last update, being issued today. But some users aren't crazy about their options.

One Michigan XP user says while he's concerned about security threats, he'd rather have his identity stolen than put up with Windows 8.
