A 44-year-old convicted felon has been arrested again. State Police have charged Dylan Chase of Victor with offering a false instrument for filing, which is a felony.
Investigators tell News10NBC Chase’s arrest is the result of the ongoing investigation into his illegal activities and his fraudulently obtained status as the SPCA Police in Livingston County.
Chase was arrested in March 2013 after police say he filed a Peace Officer Registry Form with the state Department of Criminal Justice Services that contained false information. According to police, that document allowed Chase to be illegitimately appointed as a peace officer with his SPCA Humane Corps (aka SPCA Police) in Livingston County.
Troopers say they arrested Chase locally but then turned him over to State Police in Albany to answer to the charges.
Police say Chase has been previously arrested for other crimes related to his unlawful appointment as a peace officer.
