There could be a ruling today from the Supreme Court on a lawsuit against the Town of Greece.

The lawsuit has to do with the Town’s practice of conducting prayer before meetings.. A New York Appeals Court has already ruled that the practice of having Christian clergy open town meetings with prayer is unconstitutional. But the Town asked for the high court's decision.

This is the first time in 30 years the Supreme Court had heard a case involving prayer. Back in 1983, the justices ruled opening prayer is part of “the nation's fabric” and therefore is not a first amendment violation.

If a ruling is made, we will post it here on our website.
