It is a move some say will help save lives and could impact your child's high school education.
Many health advocates have been pushing lawmakers for months to allow CPR training at high schools across the state. On Thursday, the New York State Senate passed legislation for high schoolers to become CPR certified.
The bill now heads to the Assembly. If passed, the Commissioner of Education will make the final recommendation to the Board of Regents.
