Five hundred new jobs are coming to the Rochester area. Governor Andrew Cuomo stopped in Greece Wednesday to make the announcement.
The jobs are part of a new power electronics manufacturing facility. The state is investing $135-million for the job creation program. Around 100 companies will be coming to facilities in Albany and Greece to research how to power electronics. Projects will focus on data centers, electric cars, smart cities, defense and consumer products.
In addition to the state investment, we're told private companies are investing $500-million to bring the new jobs to New York.
