A Canandaigua woman has been found guilty of setting a house she owned on fire to collect insurance money. This story comes to us from our news partners at the Messenger Post.

Shallamar Hayward-Crawford, 22, was sentenced immediately after the verdict. She will spend the next four to 12 years behind bars. Hayward-Crawford burned down a home on Saltonstall Street last December.

Her husband was convicted last month. He will be sentenced on September 25.

A friend pleaded guilty in connection with the fire and will also be sentenced next month.
