ALBANY - The National Grid Foundation announced a scholarship for UAlbany students who are leaders in "green" innovation.

The foundation is giving a $10,000 scholarship to a student who demonstrates strong "green" leadership.

They are looking for students who incorporate green principles not only into their studies, but also into their careers.

“Whether they choose to become a chef and they buy locally-grown organic produce, or they become an architect and they design the next generation of green buildings, what we want to happen is to have a new generation of environmental stewards,” Said Bob Keller of National Grid.

UAlbany also cut the ribbon today on a model green dorm room, with tips for students to live a more environmentally-friendly life.
