GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - A federal agency has cited an upstate New York cement company for the death of an employee who was hit by a front-end loader operated by a co-worker.
NewsChannel 13's media partners at the Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration cited Lehigh Northeast Cement Co. in connection with the accidental death of 51-year-old Michael Corbett of Moreau.
Glens Falls police say Corbett was working at the plant on May 28 when he was struck by a 25-ton front-end loader that was being backed up. He was pronounced dead later that night at a local hospital.
The federal agency says the worker driving the vehicle hadn't been properly trained to use it.
It was unclear if the agency's citation carries any penalties.
