A Troy man is in stable condition Sunday after he was stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver just before 11:20pm Saturday night.
Troy police responded to the area of Congress and Third Street after receiving reports of a large fight. When they arrived, 26 year old Francis Smith told officers two men tried to kill him. Then police noticed a small screwdriver was lodged in Smith’s neck.
Smith was transported to Albany Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition. Troy Detectives are now investigating the case. They believe the altercation began when Smith and his attackers exchanged words that lead to an argument. So far no arrests have been made, but Police say they are looking for two men, a Hispanic male under 6’ tall with a pony tail, and a black male. No further description was provided.
