Voters in Massachusetts did not pass ballot question number two.
The question would have legalized physician-assisted suicide for the terminally ill.
The measure was defeated 51%to 49% with 96% of precincts counted.
If passed, Massachusetts would have become the third state to allow terminally ill patients to get help from their doctors to end their lives.
