More than 200 area students learned Thursday that science is far from boring.
The 4th graders were treated to science day at GE Global Research in Niskayuna.
It included a Chemistry magic show and lots of hands on displays.
Everything from ultrasounds to a device that shows you what noise looks like.
The students came from five different schools that were hit hard by tropical storm Irene.
“I think it's a great thing for them because what happens to them is in a situation like that, life gets interrupted, school gets interrupted and to bring them back into the flow of school and the math and science is to understand what a fascinating place this research center and this area has to offer them,” said Mark Osterlitz, GE Global Reaearch.
Nearly 10,000 students have taken part in GE's Science day Since they started the event back in 1989.
