EAST GREENBUSH – Goff Middle School was dismissed early Friday after high wind blew a section of the roof off.

Superintendent Dr. Angela Nagle says a section of roof over the school's library was torn off around 9:30 a.m.

Students were instructed to use the "duck and shelter" drill -- meaning they hid under their desks in case of flying debris.

As it turns out, there was no flying debris inside the building.  No one was injured.

Nagle says she is pleased with the response of both police and fire crews. She is meeting with construction crews to survey at the damage to the roof.
