Two - Four year degree or equivalent work experience required.  Minimum of  four years of previous similar work experience.  Superior writing, producing, and non-linear editing skills required.  Thorough knowledge of software and editing and production techniques.  Must be highly creative.  Ability to train and share specific job related knowledge in a way that is understandable to others in Creative Services and other departments.  Proven ability to create and lead a project from start to finish without direct supervision.  Must have a valid driver's license.  Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet short deadlines.    
This position has the overall responsibility and decision making for conceptualizing, writing, and producing commercials, on-air promotions, public service announcements and station branding.

Produce commercials and promotions by organizing, writing, shooting video, editing, arranging and making creative decisions regarding the assigned client.
Independently create and lead on-air news image, and programming promotions by conceptualizing, producing, and writing assigned projects.  Types of projects include but are not limited to proof of brand and tune-in spots, promotable, station brand, and other strategic promotions for NewsChannel 13.  Maintain the editorial "style" and "brand" of station.  Create long form videos, marketing presentations and other unique special projects.  As needed for successful project, identify and arrange for shoot locations.  Take care of all relevant details.  Negotiate details related to shoot, within budget and style guidelines.
Manage the workflow of projects and address all challenges to keep projects moving ahead to completion while meeting all assigned deadlines.
Routinely exercise independent judgment and decisions in carrying out job functions and completing assigned projects.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.  Build effective working relationships with co-workers in same and different departments, customers, vendors and the general public.  Act in a professional manner.

Other duties as assigned.

Work in a professional, collaborative team environment with a number of members.  Work with members of the public on a regular basis.  Often work independently to create and edit on-air promotions, public service announcements and programming.  Work in confined studio/editing spaces as well as on locations.

Responsibility will include, but are not limited to:  Conceptualizing, writing, and producing/directing in-house commercials for local clients.  Pre- and post-production of all elements of production, including casting (if necessary), location scouting, supervising audio track and creating edit script.  Producing content for station web sites. Meet with account executives and clients to research and conceptualize commercials.  Coordinate all production with Production Department personnel.  

This is a full time temporary position, Monday through Friday from February 2013 to August 2013.
