ALBANY - New York's top fiscal watchdog is sounding an alarm about the state's skyrocketing debt, which is now the second highest in the nation.

Comptroller Tom DiNapoli says New York's debt tops 63 billion dollars.

It amounts to more than $3,200 per resident and is 24 billion dollars higher than a decade ago.

DiNapoli says the burden could threaten critical infrastructure projects.
