Dog rescued from Mohawk River

AMSTERDAM - A dog is safe and warm after being rescued from the icy Mohawk River.

Police found the dog near Lock 11 Tuesday night.

After several unsuccessful rescue attempts, the sheriff's department air boat was called in.

The dog is now recovering at a local animal hospital.
