ALBANY - An Albany man has been arrested in connection with the railroad puppies case.

Police arrested 30-year-old Anthony Walker of South Swan Street on Jan. 14.

The only information being released is that Walker was charged with one count of abandonment of a disabled animal.

Back in September a railroad worker found the three puppies near North Pearl Street and Broadway.

It was first believed someone may have nailed two of the puppies to the tracks and cut off a paw of the third dog. Police now say what actually happened wasn't "how it was initially portrayed."

The smallest dog died of its injuries.

Two surviving dogs have since been treated and adopted.
