Trial of James Wells begins in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY – Opening statements in the trial of James Wells began Thursday in a Schenectady courtroom.

31-year-old Wells is accused of shooting 15-year-old Eddie Stanley last June over  keys for a rental car.

Stanley was a standout basketball star.

Wells had been living in Schenectady for about six-months before the shooting, he moved back to Brooklyn shortly after the shooting.

He was arrested by U.S. Marshals in July.
