ALBANY - State police are searching for an 18-year-old man they'd like to question one day after a state trooper was stabbed at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

Police are looking for 18-year-old Eric Green. His current address is unknown, but authorities say he has ties to the Grand Street area.

Green's current address is unknown, he does have ties to the Grand Street area of Albany.

Trooper Rodney Smith was stabbed in the neck and face Sunday afternoon in the concourse of the state government complex. Police say the suspect told Smith he was new in town and didn't know anyone, then pulled a knife and attacked the trooper.
The suspect fled the scene on foot with Smith's radio, but the trooper was able to call for help using a cell phone.

Smith was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition Monday. He's expected to fully recover.
