Former Troy Councilman sentenced in voter fraud case

TROY - Former Troy Councilman John Brown is likely to be the only defendant to serve any jail time in the Troy voter fraud case.

Brown and three other democratic politicians got sentenced Tuesday.

John Brown got sentenced to 6 months in the county jail in a plea deal, but what surprised a lot of folks during Tuesday's proceeding was when the special prosecutor actually asked the judge to go lighter on Brown, which the judge refused to do.
