Fort Edward man accused of damaging property in Saratoga City Hall

A Fort Edward man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in Saratoga Springs after police responded to loud noises coming from City Hall.

Police Department personnel heard the noise coming from the 2nd floor of the building at 4:40am, Saturday. Officials say the officers saw 21 year old Matthew Zecchini running through City Hall with a fire extinguisher when they then took him in to custody.

Zecchini allegedly discharging fire extinguishers on the 2nd floor, and smashed out a glass door on the 3rd floor. The initial estimated cost of damages is over $2,500.00.

Zecchini is charged with Criminal Mischief and Burglary in the Third Degree, both felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Tampering. He is due in court at a later date.
