GLOVERSVILLE – An overnight house fire in Fulton County has killed one man who was visiting the home.

The fire broke out at a home at 34 Fifth Avenue in Gloversville around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say 41-year-old Donald Larimore was killed.

There were three young children also at the home with their grandfather. They got out safely.

The mother of the three kids was at the grocery store at the time and came home to see the fire.

The Clarks 911 call came in at 9:02, and at 9:04 rescue crews arrived.

An adult resident and his three young grandchildren were outside and inside, fire fighters found the body of Donald Larimore.

Investigators believe, preliminarily, that the 41-year-old had passed away before they were able to get him out...even though it was a matter of minutes.

Other than the severity of the fire, it's unclear how and where it started.

Investigators say the adults who were home were socializing in the kitchen and the kids, who alerted the adults to the fire, were in another section of the house.

Authorities hope the autopsy and forensic results will shed more light.

Police say they were familiar with everyone involved in the fire--including Donald Larimore who lived just several blocks away, on North Street.

There is no word yet on why Larimore was visiting in the first place.
