SARATOGA SPRINGS - Jennie Pattist was born on March 24th, 1903.

That was 9-months before the Wright Brothers took flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

To say Jennie has lived through it all may be an understatement.

She was born in South Corinth. Lived on a farm most of her life with John, her husband of 67 years, and had two children and four grandchildren, including her youngest grandchild, Patrick Barton, who is 47.

"My grandmother's brothers and sisters lived into their 90s. My uncle Tom lived to be 99," said Barton Monday before serving his grandmother's cake.

Patrick says his grandmother is in great health for a woman of her age and always has been.

Jennie's grandchildren say she's always been self-sufficent. She lived alone at home until she was 101 years old.

She moved into Wesley Health Care Center at the age of 105. At 110, she's the oldest resident there and in Saratoga County.

At Wesley,  she has some company in the century club.

"Not only here at our healthcare center, but also in our senior living center we have a few that are 100-years old and living independently, so it's not uncommon around here," said Lorrie Shilling, a spokesperson for Wesley.

Jennie's grandchildren say they wish they knew the secret to her longevity, but they guess it has something to do with her attitude.

"Gram was always positive. There was not a negative bone that my grandmother had," Barton said.
