TROY - A third person hit by a car while crossing busy Hoosick Street is being charged by police.

Police say Amber Zwinge was distracted on her cell phone while crossing the road and was hit at the intersection of HoosickStreet  and Burdett Avenue Monday night.

Police have charged her with failing to yeild right of way.

Not too far from there, a mother and her 4-year-old daughter were hit by a car last Wednesday morning. The young girl was seriously injured.

After that accident, people who live in that area met last week to talk about the dangers of crossing that road.
