MOHAWK - A barber who survived last month's shooting rampage in Herkimer County says he stayed alive by playing dead.
John Seymour tells a Utica newspaper he played dead and prayed after he was shot and wounded.
Seymour says he first thought Kurt Myers was carrying an umbrella when he walked into his barbershop in Mohawk. It was actually a shotgun.
Myers shot Seymour and three of his customers. Two of them died.
Myers then drove to neighboring Herkimer and shot two men inside a car wash.
Myers died in a shootout with police the next morning inside an abandoned building.
