ALBANY - The woman who survived a deadly car crash on the Thruway is now honoring the man who came to her rescue.

Mike Curtis helped rescue Karen Weller and her infant son Tahjay in February.

Weller and her son were in a minivan struck by Julian With.

Police say With was drunk and driving the wrong way on the Thruway when he struck Weller's vehicle, killing himself and her passenger.

Curtis tells WNYT today that Weller asked him to be Tahjay's godfather.

He's now working on getting passports to go to Canada where Weller lives so he can take part in the services.
