QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - Lawyers for the Six Flags water park where hundreds of visitors were sickened during a viral outbreak in 2008 have agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit.
NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Post-Star report
the settlement outlined in state Supreme Court on Tuesday calls for Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark to settle the lawsuit for $1.3 million.
The state Department of Health says more than 600 people reported suffering bouts of vomiting and diarrhea after visiting the hotel and water park in March 2008. Officials say the illnesses were caused by a strain of norovirus.
More than 100 of the sickened guests are part of the lawsuit.
The water park is across the road from the Six Flags Great Escape amusement park.
