The flash flooding was first reported early Friday morning.
The hardest hit areas appear to be Herkimer and Fort Plain in Montgomery County. Johnsburg and North River in Warren County were also hit hard.
Johnsburg declared a state of emergency because of damage. There were roads and streets flooded, and parts of the Thruway had scattered flooding.
There have also been some evacuations. Some viewers say they had to move to the second floor of their homes because of rising waters.
The water has receded for the most part, but it left a lot of damage in its wake. Residents say they lost many valuables.
There are no reports of injuries.
