SARATOGA SPRINGS - Some parents at a Saratoga Springs Elementary School are calling for the resignation of the principal. They say her managerial style is adversarial.
NewsChannel 13 was at a board of education meeting Thursday night when parents took to the microphone.
They said, longtime Division Street Elementary Principal Dr. Greer miller is a bully, and created an atmosphere that forced nearly 2-dozen teachers and staff to quit over the past two years.
"That fact alone is why I'm asking for the removal of the principal, either through her resignation, reassignment to another administrative duty, or her termination," said Kim Foster, a parent.
"Dr. Miller can be a gracious, friendly woman yet as a principal she often administers the school through micro managing and intimidation,” said Amy Hattrich, another parent.
School board members promised to take community concerns seriously -- after the public hearing they met in executive session.
Dr. Miller was not at the school board meeting, but she did send an e-mail acknowledging she's aware of the situation.
It reads, in part, "While change is uncomfortable, it is important now to move forward. New staff will be welcomed with excitement, enthusiasm, and professional respect."
