We're coming up on the halfway point of the season in Major League Baseball and we have two easy choices for managers of the year. John Farrell of the Boston Red Sox and Clint Hurdle of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates are contenders in the NL Central and I don't think they will fade this season. Farrell changed the climate in Boston when he took over for Bobby Valentine, and the former pitching coach of the Red Sox has made a big difference. If Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester can have productive second halves of the season, the Red Sox will be right there at the end.
