Vermont State Police say they stopped 16 vehicles on Rte. 7 in Pownal Friday morning as part of Governor Shumlin's Highway Safety Holiday Enforcement campaign.
Of the 16 stops, troopers wrote 12 tickets totaling $1,768 in fines, and wrote five warnings. The violations ranged from speeding to unregistered vehicles.
Police will continue what they call saturation patrols, as well as DUI checkpoints throughout Bennington County through the holiday weekend.
