More than 3,000 homes and businesses still don't have power after severe thunderstorms brought down trees and wires Wednesday.

The problems are mainly in Washington County. Route 40 in that county reopened before noon. It had been closed, along with some secondary roads, because of trees down.

In Granville a tree fell on top of a mobile home. The Red Cross is helping two people who lived in that home.

The Red Cross is also helping a woman in Cobleskill where the storm blew the roof off her home.

Officials in the Saratoga County town of Ballston say a lightning strike set fire to the four-story bellow tower on a local church. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about two hours.

More severe storms are forecast for Thursday.
