ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Albany International Airport is getting $1 million in federal funding for improvements.
Federal officials say the money will be used for a rescue vehicle, construction of a service road and perimeter fencing. The money comes from the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program.
US. Sen. Charles Schumer says the upgrades will make the airport safer, more modern and more efficient. Schumer announced the funding along with U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko.
