FORT EDWARD - A union protest is being organized at General Electric’s Fort Edward plant Friday.
Plant workers as well as elected officials and community members plan to rally in front of the plant starting at 2 p.m. The union is fighting GE’s plan to close the capacitor plant and move production to Florida.
The union and the company are engaged in decision bargaining over the closing, as required by the union contract.
Union representatives say the plant closing will negatively impact 200 families of GE employees.
