GLENVILLE - A new assisted living community is now open in Schenectady County.

Baptist Health cut the ribbon on Judson Meadows on Friday.

Located on Swaggertown Road in Glenville, the 60,000 square foot facility features 67 apartments and can accommodate 72 residents.

Community leaders say it will help fill a growing need for senior care in the area.

"There is a huge demand, especially as the baby boomers age, like myself, there's gonna be a huge number of people coming into the system looking for services like this," said Timothy Bartos, President and CEO of Baptist Health.

"Judson Meadows" is just the first step of what Baptist Health calls an innovative senior living campus.

There are also plans for a new nursing home and an independent living community of senior apartments.
