ALBANY - The controversial Common Core standards forum scheduled for Thursday will be an hour longer than previously planned.
State Education Commissioner John King extended his forum in Albany until 7 p.m. It was originally scheduled to end at 6 p.m.
Some parents were upset because the meeting starts at 4 p.m. and it will be hard for working parents to be able to attend. The meeting at Myers Middle School will be moderated by Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy.
The superintendent of the East Greenbush School District is holding a meeting on the Common Core Tuesday night. It's a parent information session from 6:30 to 8:30 at Citizen Genet Elementary School.
A meeting scheduled in Kingston by state Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk and the Kingston District Wide Parents' Council has been postponed until after the State Education Department completes their meetings.
